Garlic Herb Compound Butter

This versatile, insanely delectable compound butter recipe is simple yet effective. The only ingredients are butter, salt, roasted garlic, and herbs- I chose rosemary and thyme, but you can really use any and all herbs here with delicious results! Use the compound butter to finish meat and seafood or incorporate it into vegetable sides, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, or garlic bread. You can find the roasted garlic recipe that I use to make this compound butter here.

To begin, add the butter, herbs, garlic paste, and salt to a food processor and mix well until whipped. Alternatively, you can do this in a mixing bowl with a hand mixer.

Lay a sheet of wax paper on your worktop. Using a spatula, transfer the butter to the middle of the wax paper. Lay the butter out in a line to make rolling it easier.

Fold the edges so that the butter is in the center fold of the wax paper. Press the top of the wax paper down onto the bottom that’s against the worktop.

Place your thumbs on the outside of the butter and scoot your other fingers against where the wax paper meets on the other side of the butter. Tighten the roll as much as you can without tearing through the wax paper.

Roll the butter until all of the paper is wrapped around the log. Twist the ends as close to the butter log as possible- this will help shape it and keep it all tight and formed.

Refrigerate for at least an hour.

Remove from the wax paper and slice off a Tbsp at a time to elevate most any dish imaginable!
